anyways, i found my dream job. it was being a "virtual assistant" for jen from tatortots and jello. i made it to the "finals" of applicants, but the final cut got me. during the "finals" i had to make a mock blog post for her blog. now i'm recycling it, here's what i came up with.
-----------------
wrap it up and pull it together: diy party style!
put on a party this weekend!
here are some ideas that can be easily customized for any party: back to school, birthday, holiday, or just a get together!
decorations-
drape balloons from the ceiling- no helium needed!as seen here at the pleated poppy.
for night time lighting:
try this dixie cup garland made by heygorg
if you want the garland, but not the lights, and happen to have paint swatches laying around the house (if not they're free!) go for this:
tutorial by grace and light studio
activities-
give everyone a scratch card and have a giveaway for the winner!thanks art mind!
create a photobooth!
-start by grabbing a black bed sheet for the background.
-if you have not made bunting yet.. try it out part of your photobooth. it could be pinned to the background or those in the photobooth could hold it. what do you have already?
fabric or..
paper?
if you have fabric christie chase will help, or if you have an excess or cute paper try b*spoke.
-make a trip to your local thrift store for fun props, such as vintage jewelry, hats, funny signs, etc.
-make some of your own props like these:
for a great diy tutorial, check out heartmade's post.
grub-
milkshake shooters!personalize this recipe from heygorg!
fruit dip.. with nutella!
family kitchen makes it look easy.. and it is!
technicalities-
for buffet lines, keep the silverware (even if it's plastic!) in fun flower pots:thanks simply seleta! (no tutorial necessary, but make sure they're clean and stick them in!)
found on pinterest here.
and if you want to get REALLY ready for your party,
attire-
this skirt:make it with this burdastyle tutorial!this is a great idea for fabric leftovers. this was made with tulle, but try it with other fabrics and let me know what you get!
an easy picture to copy for your hair:
from the beauty department. they have some other great ideas and tutorials!
put these together, then add some great friends, and your party's sure to be a hit!
party on- ashley.
