goals.

if i write down my goals on my blog.. it makes them more official right?
i'm starting with a week, but hopefully this week will form habits!
i want to really get in the routine of good habits before school starts and i transition into that "student mode".

-prayers day and night.
-scriptures day and night.
-begin "Jesus the Christ", read daily.
-journal daily.
-tidy room daily.
-keep car clean, clean enough that i don't have to clear out a space for a passenger ( like i usually do, embarrassing! )

hold me to these!

i've noticed this is depressing for a number of reasons:

1- i wasn't home to help/still am not home to help

2- i haven't been home since decemeber

3- this may mean i don't make it home this summer

4- when i go home it will not be the same if i make it back in the near future

its not the material things that are hard to watch be taken away, though that is not easy, its the fact that this is the community i grew up in and its slowly not showing up in pictures.. 

and its what its doing to people in the community as well. 

but, on a more positive note, its also shown how strong of a community i come from.

i nannied at this house for a summer and spent multiple nights babysitting and this house and others on the street.

sheriff directing traffic in between north sioux and the dunes. the dunes was closed to everyone, even residents, so that workers and trucks building the leeve would not have to deal with traffic.

tonight in our dinner prayer abby did and it really hit. we're in need, we're in preparation for a disaster, but at least we have notice. but, this is real. anyone wanting to volunteer please let me know.

this past week has been crazy! lots of blog worthy stuff.
but, i'd like to take a short second to give a shout out to my hometown.
i'm a small town south dakota girl where we get excited when they're fights at school and we leave our keys in our car during school.. its pretty low key and a simple life and i like it that way.
however, this weekend is the start of a very hectic time for dakota dunes/wynstone/north sioux city, south dakota.
the river is rising and they are planning on increasing the amount of water released from a dam up river three times in the next couple weeks, directly affecting us.
i don't like on the river but i live close and my neighbors on the river already have water in their backyard.
i have church family who is expecting to lose their basement and is evacuating. they cancelled church sunday and members sand bagged and helped get things out of resident's basements in preparation for the worst.
all of this is going on while all my family is in utah. my parents seem pretty calm about it all. it will be a while before it gets to us, but it is definitely a concern as they've been on and off the phone with neighbors and friends all day. 
it stinks being here and not being able to help. i love the place i grew up and i desperately want to be there helping. for now i'll send thoughts and prayers and hope for the best.

my inspiration is gone. summer hit and nothing seems appealing to me anymore. i'm lazy.

this friday is my big sale! i should stop calling it "mine" but .. well, it helps my self esteem.
last night i got to see some "college" friends.. aka hailey, elisa, rachael, daniel, and dallin.
we made a bon fire and roast hot dogs and made smores. adorable right? pictures to follow.
today is the reason why i came up north- for my cousin claire's baptism.

claire somewhat looks like she really needs to go to the bathroom, but we'll ignore that because she's so sweet.
this week i finished the fourth season of army wives [x] so i guess that is what it took to cure the addiction. ughh. what will i watch while i make headbands now?
anyways. what else? um. i think that's all for now.
hopefully my life will be "blog worthy" soon.

yesterday i woke up from my nap to a little surprise on my desk..
a little boy betta fish!!
I"M SO EXCITED
my friends from home know this isn't my first fish experience.
last year we made the mistake of listening to the petco lady who said you could put a boy and girl betta in the same bowl. FAIL.

i was such a good mommy. my friends and i really embraced the welsey melinda romance.
we took them on dates, shown here at chili's. no lie.
but then..
wesley killed melinda. STRAIGHT UP!
yeah. hopefully this will go better.

day week

alright. let me just vent right now. sorry if i offend anyone.
right now i'm sitting in the dark because my roommate likes to sleep during the day.
its a little bit opposite of most people in case you didn't know, but she sleeps at night, too.
it works out really well :)

last week was crap. i had two tests, a couple write ups, and knew i had a big paper due this week. the paper was supposed to be due friday but the teacher extended the deadline- i was so happy!
but. i put off my book of mormon test until saturday. i had things due almost every day that week so it was never high on my list. and friday i was out until five and so i obviously wasn't very chipper on saturday. i got up at eleven to study, studied about two hours and went and took the test. i was really disappointed in how i did. and. well i knew i deserved it so that made it even worse.

so yesterday, i had this paper due. it was five to seven pages. i had four and a half.
i send all my papers to my mom to edit. i told her to not to shorten it at all and tell me where to add a sentence or two. she went over her "deadline" from me,
the paper was due at four and at twenty til four she sent it to me. it had shortened about half a page.
so i had twenty minutes to write a page, print it out, put it in my portfolio and run it up to campus to the jfsb.
needless to say, i didn't do this. i got almost another half a page, and was about one minute early.
i even saw my teacher on the way down, who was going up to collect our papers.
so. i probably didn't do well. and that sucks. because it was definitely on the right track to being an 'a' paper.

i was up until five working on the paper sunday night, so last night i wanted to go to bed early. i cleaned my room, or at least my clothes, and wanted to go to bed. finally at one i was able to get in bed. then this morning i slept through my alarms. and missed my class. i was really mad at myself.
today, i had a big headband shipment [x] to mail, as well as a birthday present. i went to the post office, was using the machine to weigh my package and print a sticker and i went to pay for the postage and noticed my purse was wallet-less. so.. i couldn't mail the headbands or the birthday present.
and now i still can't find my wallet. so that's pretty awesome.

then. i'm supposed to have an accounting lesson and quiz due tonight. so i go to do it and notice its been done. this is great news, except for the fact that i did it on friday instead of the quiz that was due friday, so i won't get credit for that lesson.

on top of this let's just say "weird" things are going on in my friendship world lately.
oh yeah, and my high school is about 75% full of pot heads now. and they're starting to get caught. suckaaaas. i guess we all knew the school would go downhill when my grade graduated.. and i'm not even just saying that.

now that i've been so dang negative, i'm going to end this post. right after i "publish post' it, i promise i'm going to do a positive post, because i had a pretty dang good weekend.

this summer i have NO CLUE what i'm going to do. here are my options.. i think you should decide. :)


option one-
go down to st. george. live with my lovely grandmother. just her and i. its a blast :) work at the store. hope for a bit more responsibility. take some classes from dixie that would transfer. but i don't really have friends there..

option two-
stay here in provo. find a job. hope it works out. live in nana and papa's house, they'll be back at up here by them. i would have more friends here and i could work something out for classes, not sure if it'd be go summer semester or take online classes.

what do you think?
