this article really bugged me (or rather what was in the article, not the the actually writing of it), i didn't watch the game and didn't know how disrespectful SDSU was..
"A good portion of them were dressed like Mormon missionaries, in short-sleeved, white dress shirts, black ties and bike helmets. And at the center of the first row was a 10-year-old who'd been allowed in with the students, and he was holding a red posterboard that read, "Hi Mom(s)."
"My mom made it for me," the boy said. "She told me that the BYU players have more than one mom.""
Ignorance stinks. Especially when people are ignorant towards something so personal.. but with the exception of the "more than one mom" (which by the way, I can't believe, but really I guess I can, how that kid is being raised to believe/ think so many wrong things) but at the same time, though it was disrespectful, that's the way our missionaries dress and its not really something we're trying to hide. I personally love a boy dressed up in a suit, and obviously have a lot of respect for our church's missionaries. I obviously know that the crowd was trying to poke fun at us in a rude way, but really its not a bad thing that they know LDS missionaries are required to dress so well. And sometimes they even get to ride a bike :)
They look fly, and SDSU is just jealous.
Oh yeah. And we beat them pretty good. So that must stink.
ps idk why half way through this i decided to write with proper capitalization and punctuation. oops. :)
I agree! i actually had a friend at that game (she goes to sdsu). She gave me so much crap cuz she was just bitter that they lost. they definitely weren't the most respectful.
ReplyDeleteoh i'm sure they were so bitter..
ReplyDeleteoh well at least we won :)
