i'm blogging from a car.

can you believe technology? i am on the internet while driving home from st. george. a- mazing. and pretty sweet and productive :)

 the provo bubble was popped thursday night when b-dog and brittany took off to head south.

this little gas station saved our lives. um. just know that if you are low in gas on the way to st. george GAS UP IN CEDAR.. if not you may have some technical difficulties. let's just say that our gas tank got very low for a very long time, according to the gas light.  how low you ask?

we are poor.. so we put five dollars in to get us to st. george (we were four miles away) and the gas light was STILL on. i am happy to report we made it safely. (barely.)

both friday and saturday night i worked the closing shift at ace. why do i love it so much? i don't exactly understand it.. but i like it and it pays so i think i'll keep picking up these shifts when possible :) i saw some of our "regulars".. one almost didn't recognize me when i was in the store that day without my vest!

i worked both shifts with this kid (breckon). he's underage so don't get any thoughts. we're just work besties. it's a love/hate relationship but on a good day i can get him to do the cleaning for me :) he started this summer and was just a little trainee and now he's earned the rights to the keys over me! so proud.

after work i made an appearance with bryn and brit at my aunt's halloween party. it was rockin'. everyone (except for us) was in full costume. dj lex was there (apparently he's a big deal) and every now and then a zumba instructor did a dance with everyone.

somehow my clever cousin ethan constructed a robot head thing to be like the LMFAO guy. his eyes even lit up! he's a keeper.

after we went to the haunted corn maze at staheli family farm.  not too scary but fun, and it was cool to meet new people. thanks for the facebook tag kortney!

sunday i went to church with my grandma, uncle, and cousins. i got the pleasure of taking kennedy out when sacrament meeting was getting long for her.

it reminded me of old time with my siblings :) we went around and look at all the pictures and talked about them. i just want to be a primary teacher! stupid YSA wards.

now i'm provo bound. i had the perfect weekend of family, friends, catching up, shopping, and work :) almost home!  we were driving and kennedy found part of her brother's costume from last night (he was an old man) and put it on. below is the result.

this baby is on sale. its literally a baby. a baby grand that is. got it up and running on craigslist while i was in stg. k none of you probably cared about that.

i started on the photo booth for jared and elizabeth's wedding. this is the bunting.. you like?
DRIVE TO PROVO

listened to this song. i just liked that it said this on the little thinger. (oh yeah, recently i discovered i used the word "thinger" for just about everything.)
WORK IN HEBER 

i saw this and just couldn't help but wonder.. is this a utah/mormon joke? only the utah/mormons will get this.

i visited the local favorite, well apparently state favorite, dairy keen. yummm chocolate strawberry and coconut shake.

 this was my favorite work project. i mostly did inventory but on the last day lynne (my boss) had me make a sign for the barn. i'm not going to lie to you, timberline ace hardware is pretty country. we sell ifa goods. don't know what that is? me either. its stuff for your farm. represent.

in between work days i got to spend lots of time with the cousins. the clarks are the greatest and i stayed with them for two weeks. i took over sophie's bedroom and everything. one night i went up to salt lake and babysat this kid and his siblings. i love them all!
DRIVING

in the past few weeks i've probably driven around 800 miles. actually i might dare say more 900 to 1000. a trip to st. george + heber every day for work gave me lots of alone time i guess. and i became slightly obsessed with the utah skyline, aka the mountains.

PROVO

meet my new home. cozy right? ha. it'll do. i'll have to do a before and after once i get settled. but this is what we (hayley and i) started with. ps hayley is my roommate. i'll introduce her soon. she's basically the best thing ever. i scored.

i won't lie, my eating habit were HORRIBLE before i went to the grocery store. yep, this was my dinner one night. can't say i minded it. but now i have some sweet peas and strawberries, and good stuff like that :)

let me just tell you a little secret. this is how you make me happy.. invite me to froyo (rachael kohler) and then give me a froyo coupon (molly flanigan). ps.. here's a shoutout to good ol' chaych.

that's her in the middle. she's twenty. yeah. old. so. anyone who needs to get married soon... kidding :) ps the crazy on the far right is on his mish! ah. miss ry reich. all these boys are just leaving left and right! i guess i should say something about kels too.. kidding. i love her lots. and am so glad we're reunited. just like old times. for realsies.

i'm not going to lie to you..

i want to be in love after reading/watching this post. such a cute blog, such a cute story.

and it is extremely weird of me to even talk about love. so.. there you go.
its THAT cute.

5 days to a new ward
6 days to classes

now that looks like a dang good week. eh?

just call me a little home maker..

it all started when the cousins and i made cookies one night..

these weren't just ANY cookies.. they were the best of the best. we did our research, ok kate did her research. i wish i could remember the link to the recipe she decided on.. it was very specific. bread flour, sifting, egg yokes, etc. we made those cookies the best we could.. but then we got done and the dough was extremely runny. one thing we had missed was we were supposed to let the dough chill for fourty five minutes before we did anything. caroline was much too impatient for that.. but it still seemed we had done something wrong. the problem was the measurements were in ounces, and our little byu brains apparently were not enough to handle conversions.. oops. luckily paige, kate's bff and a culinary arts student, came to the rescue.

and she plopped these two babies on the tray. i told her all to get in the picture and she decided her hand would be used best for proportions so you could see exactly how big these were. i wish i had a picture of the baked cookies. anyways, they were quite good. and so was the dough. end of story.

moving on. i have a new crafting obsession, one more than headbands.

bunting! ever heard of it? its a banner for those who are confused. i made three in one night. and i made one last night, and one a week ago. its great. this is one i made for my sister maggie for her birthday, before it was on string.

i got the sparkly paper you can get at target, two 12 x 12's for $1. then i got some bigger letter stickers. i cut them into 4 x 6 triangles. i have also done 6 x 9 for something i wanted bigger letters, etc. i would just suggest choosing how wide you want it and then 1.5ing it for the length. i cut them all, glued on the letters.

and then put it on hemp. the woodsy looking string. i put an iphone's width apart from each triangle. really specific, i know. after i glued the string down, then i fold over the top of the triangle and glue that down, and then cut off the ends that should poke out.

ta da! you can't see the letter in this one. i made two smaller ones out of what left over paper i had, but just used smaller triangles. i was able to get those three buntings made with less than two pieces of scrapbooking paper, so this costs about $4 to make, if you already have the string. the string is about $4 at hobby lobby i believe. (but any kind of string you use should do, as long as it can hold it up.)

oh yeah. i also made one for ace in heber city, ut. i should have brightened this picture.. but it says paint department. i was uber bored because long story short there was literally nothing i could do. so.. i got some paint chips, made a rainbow, wrote the letters on there, you get it. this one we did differently, no glue involved! just whole punching. i had help from a cashier on this one. we used things we had around the store and it was free!

good old timberline. and i mean old. this store is one for the history books.

oh yeah. and another craft.. crayons through a glue gun. i got the idea from pinterest and have been fascinated ever since. i had to try it, but i didn't have a canvas..

so i used my notebook. it was a little rocky at first, but i plan to do it again the right way. i had to run a glue stick through it a little to get the color out of it, hence what you see on the receipt, but it's pretty cool.

anyways. exciting? kinda i guess. the end.

quick thoughts.

12 days? yep its been a while.
but the last 21 days or so have been crazy!
i've been all over..
st. george > midwest > road trip from SD to UT > st. george > zions national park > st. george > current residence in orem, ut.
i've rekindled friendships at home,
remembered why i love family reunions so much.. and my family,
got sick and had to have my mom pack up my life,
moved up north,
started working a new, temporary job,
tried to hold in my extreme excitement for my sophomore year at BYU.

yes, i love life.
lately pinterest is my thing.
i spend waaay too much time on it and i have added a new "craft ideas" folder to my bookmarks.
today i will be tackling
this one.

i am seeing how i like the end product and hoping to use it in my uncle jared's wedding reception photo booth i am in charge of.
if anyone has any cute ideas for a diy photo booth please holla!
however, i have lots of ideas coming from all over stuck in my head and hopefully soon i'll be doing something with them.

highlights of my week:

family time at the store, and training some new employees :) 

i got some new sweet shoes from hurst general store :) but seriously, these shoes are genius. they have so many colors i can wear them basically anything. genius. 

then, mom, maggie, sam, and i drove up to orem. it was a nice break and alone time with my mom and siblings. 

the kids had some fun in the sun, its getting hot up there! caroline, my cousin is an amazing dancer by the way. i expect to see her on so you think you can dance or something of those sorts. 

the hansen's have fled the flood and have been in utah for a while. i finally got to see them! i was so excited. our families are close and i loved any chance i got to babysit them. when i was still there it was just curtis, ashley, and annie, and now its fun to have baby ava in the mix too :) aren't they the cutest, classiest, most fun kids ever? yeah. they are. 

oh yeah, and look at these two hotties. totally got to see them. it was the best. i also got to see hailey, daniel, and CODY! ah. it was a big unplanned treat to see cody and kelsey in provo. so weird how it worked out that they were visiting the same time i was but i am so glad it worked :) 

and just to mix it up, here's brynley's report card from work. it should make you giggle a little. she worked at a yogurt shop, a little too serious? i think so. but a 79.6 isn't too bad i guess?

this week has been full of surprises, disappointments, old times, yummy food, tears, laughs, hugs, drugs.. jk. just wanted to see if you were paying attention.
